It takes a strong village…

Miranda E. Goodwin, JD, Affiliate

It all started when…

Miranda E. Goodwin joined Ms. Malia first as a Law Clerk, then as an Affiliated Attorney in 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee (UTK) College of Law (pictured above) and is licensed to practice in Tennessee as of 2020. (Sarah can attest to how impressive it was that Miranda and members of her cohort passed the TN Bar that year during the pandemic!) Miranda enjoys assisting elders, individuals with disabilities, and their families with estate planning. She advises clients on how to better minimize or manage future crises.  As an empathetic person, Miranda welcomes opportunities to meet her clients’ needs and enhance their quality of life when possible. Her analytical skills and patience serve her well as she helps clients navigate unique challenges. In addition to assisting clients with planning issues, Miranda also handles estate administrations or probate cases when loved ones have died.

During her final year at UTK College of Law, Miranda was a Qualified Student Attorney in the Wills Clinic, providing pro bono services with her supervising professor in order to help clients establish conservatorships and prepare estate planning for families in need. Coincidentally, directly after Miranda graduated, Sarah stepped in the role of supervising professor for the Wills Clinic, along with the attorneys from McKinney and Tillman, P.C. Miranda has come full circle and continues now as an attorney assisting the Wills Clinic with essential administrative and legal services, along with Sarah. We make quite a team, both in our private practices and our UTK work.

Miranda’s personal time is dedicated (in no particular order, she swears…or affirms) to her beloved dogs, husband, and close-knit family. She also strives to travel near and far on a regular basis to explore the globe and gather enriching experiences shared with friends and family. ⬦
